What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with product managers and safety teams to design and build mapping infrastructure and pipelines
- Own the design and implementation of scalable frontend and backend services
- Advocate for technical excellence and navigate tradeoffs in project execution
- Communicate effectively with both engineering teams and internal product partners
- Champion and embed the company's cultural principles while scaling globally
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Full-stack or backend development experience (React, Typescript, Golang)
- Strong programming fundamentals and ability to leverage AI tools during development
- Proven track record of leading design, development, and maintenance of scalable software systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience shaping and improving mapping, routing, or navigation products
- Passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers
- Proven success in 0?1 teams and scaling them through growth phases
- Willingness to engage directly with customers as needed
