What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Design and implement high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable backend systems for managing petabytes of customer data
- Enhance algorithms for scheduling loads on clusters of thousands of machines in real-time
- Improve systems to ensure performance guarantees in a shared-everything multi-tenant architecture
- Lead efforts to re-architect internal message processing technology for petabyte-per-day scale
- Collaborate across teams to identify requirements and develop solutions for core ingest needs
What is Required (Qualifications):
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related discipline; M.S. is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownership and delivery
- Experience in developing scalable distributed data processing solutions
- Proficiency in multi-threaded programming and large scalable distributed services following a microservice architecture
- Hands-on object-oriented programming experience (e.g., Java, Scala)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in big data and/or 24x7 commercial services
- Familiarity with Unix (Linux, OS X) environments
- Agile software development experience, including test-driven and iterative development
