      The Onboard Products & Retail team builds the United brand through the strategic planning, design, and development of critical touchpoints in the overall customer experience onboard all United Airlines flights with onboard amenities and partnerships, as well as through e-commerce retail with our United Shop program.

      Key Responsibilities:

      The Sr. Specialist position is responsible for understanding the competitive landscape, collaborating on critical initiatives to define our product vision and roadmap, making sound business recommendations for project priorities and funding, and handling complex cross-divisional projects that include internal collaborators as well as suppliers to deliver projects on time and on budget.

      • Lead product development for onboard soft product, including design process with external agencies and vendors, collaborating with Global Procurement for RFP/RFI, work cross-divisionally to validate the product and manage ongoing product review with management with product timelines and specifications by cabin/market/fleet.
      • Support global implementation by determining of cut over strategy including timelines and internal & external communication with and to new SKUs including transfer of onboard products to United Shop.
      • Support partnerships including handling marketing contracts, in all aspects of soft product to enhance United's onboard experience and create revenue opportunities with these partnerships in support of loyalty, customer experience, media, IFE, United Shop and employee engagement initiatives.
      • Assess United’s product offering against competitive airlines, provide logical recommendations and solutions based on accurate and thorough analysis and research.
      • Work closely with research and insights teams to test new product concepts, track performance of existing products and uncover customer needs.

      This is a hybrid position and will be required to work in the office 50% of the time at Willis Tower in Chicago, IL. This position also is expected to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestic and international travel.

      What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

      • Bachelor's degree within Marketing, Design, Supply Chain, Project Management or related field or 4 years of relevant work experience
      • 2+ years of work experience in product or customer experience development
      • Strong project management skills
      • Excellent communicator; verbal, written, interpersonal, and storytelling skills
      • Ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization
      • Demonstrated track record in managing and working collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
      • Ability to prioritize projects to meet critical timelines
      • Creative thinker and problem solver with passion for customer experience
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
      • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
      • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
