- Evaluate potential suppliers’ technical capabilities against defined criteria to ensure selection of partners who can meet the Company’s business requirements as part of the formal sourcing process
- Develop mitigation plans to address gaps and risks found during supplier selection and manage resolution of those plans (including on-site support, where needed) to ensure launch readiness and successful routine production
- Evaluate and ensure alignment between Company and supplier specifications to avoid future deviations and supply issues
- Drive improvements in supplier capabilities while collaborating with Global / Regional Procurement, Science & Technology, and other Company stakeholders
- Execute Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) with high-risk suppliers
- Maintain flexibility to travel, ~25%, within the region, country and internationally to supplier/stakeholder locations
- BS/BA degree in Engineering or Science
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality, Technical, or Manufacturing / Packaging Operations
- Ability to work in dynamic environments with potentially conflicting priorities
- Demonstrated success working independently with all levels of the organization to get results, while fostering collaboration and maintaining a customer-focused mindset
- Demonstrated leadership skills including professional / interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain commercial relationships with suppliers
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and leverage expertise from other internal departments
- Appreciation and respect for diversity of thought and inclusion
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Execute Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) with high-risk suppliers
- Lean Six Sigma certification (e.g. Green Belt / Black Belt) or equivalent demonstrated process improvement experience
- Experience in Statistical analysis
- Knowledge of cGxPs and pharmaceutical / life science operations
- Experience leading / executing APQP projects

The Supplier Development & Performance Management (SD&PM) team ensures delivery of reliable, compliant goods and services from suppliers to enable an uninterrupted supply of our Company’s products and services to our patients.
As a Supplier Development (SD) Engineer, the candidate will be a key technical interface with direct material suppliers and Human Health and Animal Health manufacturing sites on proactive activities in the areas of Primary packaging components, Secondary Packaging components, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API AH), Capital equipment, Medical Devices (AH) and Technology Solutions (AH).
We are looking for a professional to be based at one of our European manufacturing sites.
