What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Underwrite new and renewal business for life sciences accounts across multiple lines of coverage including products, professional, and cyber
- Assess risk and make informed underwriting decisions in accordance with company guidelines
- Document underwriting decisions and communicate coverage options during the quoting process
- Identify opportunities for account rounding and cross-selling additional products
- Collaborate with colleagues to address complex issues and support overall agency management
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience in small or middle market life sciences
- Strong knowledge of professional lines, cyber, and products liability
- Proficiency in property and casualty coverages and underwriting principles
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to negotiate and close accounts
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with complex life sciences accounts
- Proven track record in business development and agency management
- Additional certifications related to underwriting or insurance
- Familiarity with current insurance technologies and tools
- Prior experience in a collaborative team environment
