      Overview:

      Condé Nast is seeking a Global SVP of eCommerce for Condé Nast to lead affiliate and commerce growth across the complete portfolio of brands. Candidates should have a strong and tenured history operating a commerce P&L in excess of $100M in GMV. An innovative thinker, they will shape the future vision for commerce to deliver against ambitious growth. The ideal candidate has strategic and operating leadership experience with Storefront, Marketplace and/or Affiliate businesses. They must understand the inextricable link between our brands, editorial, audiences, and commerce.

      This senior leader is responsible for developing and leading a team of commerce business leads, writers, editors, and producers to deliver against revenue and gross margin objectives. They will be responsible for commerce revenue growth, new opportunities, and innovation to meet customers where they are. They will create an overarching commerce strategy for portfolio brands including but not limited to Vogue, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Conde Nast Traveler, Bon Appetit, Epicurious, Wired, GQ, Glamour and more. They will also serve as an important bridge between product & technology, business development, ad sales, and corporate strategy.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Accountable for Commerce revenue generation and gross margin.

      • The Affiliate commerce KPI is earnings-per-click.

      • Working collaboratively with cross functional teams including Audience Development, Product and CRM to deliver business results.

      • Developing strategic priorities for Commerce in the technology category, working with the Condé Nast Commerce Category Director and with market Finance and Editorial teams.

      • Managing content production to ensure delivery of revenue and gross margin targets.

      • Managing and career development of commerce leads, writers, editors, and producers.

      • Assessment of new strategic and tactical priorities.

      • Ensure all work products reflect brand voice and standards.

      • Development and growth of new Commerce Revenue channels, Franchises (email, video, social) and Syndication.

      Qualifications:

      The ideal candidate has specific experience in marketplace or storefront commerce and affiliate marketing:

      • A minimum of 12 years overall work experience, with 8 years focused on growing a commerce business with demonstrated success.

      • Strong technical and product commerce acumen and experience.

      • Global experience preferred.

      • Must exhibit leadership qualities that inspire innovation and operational excellence.

      • Experience managing a team of commerce business leads, editors and writers.

      • Track record of developing revenue streams with either core commerce or traditional publishing companies in digital, video, in-app and/or mobile web experience and social commerce experience.

      • Comfortable with revenue and gross margin forecasting and planning, including familiarity with financial concepts such as LTV (lifetime value), NPV (net present value) and business model creation.

      • A natural communicator who can align cross-functional teams.

      • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

      • Solid understanding of attribution models, affiliate metrics, and multi-channel funnels.

        • Experience with large marketplaces like Amazon, Veriship

        • 3rd party technology Commerce experience

        • Experience in both strategic merchant partnerships and backend Tech relationships

        • Syndicated Commerce Content on 3rd Party Platforms

        • SEO management experience

        • Mobile/App ecommerce

        • Native Checkout

        • Mobile/Desktop website search, speed optimization experience

        • Experience replatforming

        • Helped lead site architecture improvements

        • Experience managing site experience and merchandising.

      • Inventory Management

        • Drop ship fulfilment

      Key relationships will include:

      • Editors-in-Chief, Heads of Editorial Content

      • Commerce Revenue Portfolio Leadership and Brand Managers

      • Consumer Analytics and Finance teams

      • Audience Development and SEO

      • CRM manager and Data Management leadership

      • Global product and technology leadership

      The expected base salary range for this position is from $275,000 - $375,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education. For bonus-eligible roles only: In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
