      Job Description


      Under limited supervision, welds metal components together with brazing and variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, motors, and generators and performs manual and/or automated welding using resistance, electrical arc and open flame welding in natural or artificial atmosphere on all materials by performing the following duties.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

      • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions by using TIG, MIG, ARC, brazing, and/or soldering as appropriate and any combination of arc welding processes.
      • Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
      • Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.
      • Reads and interprets design drawings, sketches and verbal instructions and specifications.
      • Exercises judgment, ingenuity and initiative. Demonstrates ability to advise design and engineering personnel in up to the minute developments, new techniques and procedures and materials.
      • Performs precision welding using the highest quality of workmanship.
      • Demonstrates ability to accomplish all required layout, set up, clamping, fixturing and measuring necessary within assigned tasks without seeking higher technical assistance.
      • Performs all mathematical calculations necessary to complete assigned work.
      • Performs routine repetitive high production tasks as assigned

      Education and/or Experience: Technical Diploma or specialized welding certification preferred such as CRAW, CWI or CWS. Minimum of 6 years of welding experience required. Demonstrated ability to read and understand all drawings, written instructions, shop math and measuring equipment required to perform the job.

      REQUIRED: DC & AC Aluminum Stainless and MIG experience.
