      As our Field Service Technician, you will maintain and service all JBT chemical systems and machinery in customer packinghouses on a routine basis to ensure that they are functioning properly and are in good repair as determined by management.

      On a given day you may find yourself

      • Mixing and testing chemicals in the field to verify proper dilution and effectiveness
      • Developing effective relationships with packinghouse personnel and management
      • Maintaining proper records of chemical use at packinghouses to assure machinery down time is kept to a minimum
      • Being responsible for inventory cost control and summer repair parts list
      • Maintaining proper inventory of leased machinery parts and chemical use at packinghouses to assure machinery down time and customer complaints are kept to a minimum
      • Working with Technical Service to ensure proper application of JBT chemicals
      • Completing checklists and fill in delivery log books for JBT requirements and food safety documentation

      The Challenge

      To thrive, you should have:

      • The ability to fabricate, assemble and install Leased Machinery systems on an as needed basis.
      • The ability to travel to assist other customer facilities if required depending on seasonal need
      • Experience working on industrial machinery
      • Basic mechanical skills to maintain and troubleshoot equipment issues are required.

      • Technical School
      • Electrical circuitry experience
      • Computer programming experience
      • PLC programming experience
      • Packing house operations experience

      Education, Travel & Schedule

      • You have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
      • Willing to work overtime including weekends as required
      • Able to work day or night shift as required

      This position will work in our customer facility located in Delano, CA

      WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

      The work environment and physical demands described below are representative of those an employee will encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

      • Working 8+ hours per day, up to 7 days per week for extended periods during the processing season
      • Working around moving industrial machinery and exposure to machinery noise, chemicals, and fumes from associated products
      • Lifting, pushing, pulling an average maximum weight of 50 lbs.
      • Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, squatting, and stepping up/down from material handling equipment
      • Working in moderate cold to extreme heat
      • Using hand tools
      • This position is considered a safety sensitive position; thus employee may be subjected to randomized drug testing.
