What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee installation and commissioning of network-based CCTV security systems in shipboard environments
- Evaluate shipboard environments for the installation of equipment and coordinate with engineers
- Perform onsite testing of equipment and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Install and oversee installation of applicable cables and equipment
- Provide measurable input into design elements of future systems
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a field engineer supporting technical programs
- Experience in installing, modifying, or maintaining shipboard CCTV systems and/or networks
- Familiarity with IP related services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP
- Working knowledge of CAT5-5E, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cable, connectors, and equipment fabrication
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Active Secret Clearance (or higher)
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, and/or Networking
- Industry Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
- Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches
- Additional certifications regarding network security
