- Adhere to the daily shipping schedule to ensure the trucks are loaded on time for deliveries as directed by the Shipping Coordinator’s or Warehouse manager.
- Adhere to all Working Documents within shipping.
- Communicate to the Shipping Coordinator any discrepancies with loads or inventory.
- Communicate problems that will affect the shipping schedule to the shipping coordinator.
- Coordinate trailer moves from the 000 dock to the yard and Logistics warehouse 035.
- Assign loads / unloads to Forklift operators.
- Process all deliveries from outside vendors and arrange for delivery to proper departments and notify supervisors/maintenance.
- Aid in managing drivers to ensure they can get underway without delay’s.
- Supervise forklift operators in the daily operations and ensure that all trucks are loaded properly and securely for delivery to customer.
- Perform random checks on Forklift operators to be sure they are checking their work in the system, and adhering to a Safety Policies, Dock Rules, and GMP’S.
- Check banding reports to verify all orders that are banded match production records and are not orphaned.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings with the department along with the Warehouse manager topic request.
- Communicate repair needs in the warehouse to the Warehouse Supervisor or Director of Logistics.
- Provide a daily update to Warehouse Manager before shift change and oncoming shipping personnel
- Monitor warehouses for damages and proper storage of items; keep areas well organized and clean.
- Complete necessary paperwork/reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to Forklift Safety Inspection sheets, Safety and Quality data, and Employee diaries.
- Perform regular inventory cycle counts as called out by the warehouse supervisor.
- Assign Employee’s to pull stock and make ready for shipment.
- Communicate repairs to necessary personal.
- Aid and foster a senior working relationship with Plant lead and help aid in growth within position.
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred prior work experience in the corrugated industry
- Experience as a forklift operator
- High degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of company equipment and in the prevention of damage to materials and equipment
- Pass substance abuse screening according to company policy
- Sit Down Rider Forklifts, High Lifts
- Basic Office Equipment - Computer, Printers, Calculators.
