What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assess infrastructure capability and identify opportunities to modernize shipyard facilities to enhance shipbuilding and repair capacity
- Collaborate with Navy program offices, engineering teams, and shipyard stakeholders to analyze facility and process data and develop technical recommendations
- Support the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies, including AI, robotics, and additive manufacturing
- Serve as a key communicator, translating complex technical initiatives into strategic narratives for Navy leadership
- Manage shipyard engagement activities, including site visits and supplier modernization projects
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, or marine) preferred
- Prior experience in naval construction and shipyard operations required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing high-level decision briefs and strategic messaging
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Valid engineering license such as a USCG Third Assistant Engineer or Professional Engineer credential
- Demonstrated experience managing technical transition efforts, particularly for automation or data-driven systems
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect disparate technical information into actionable insights
- Experience preparing and delivering high-stakes presentations to senior stakeholders
- Ability to work independently in a high-tempo, mission-focused environment managing competing priorities
