      We have an exciting opportunity for an SMS Clinical Lead to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Leeds, a category B Prison located in Gloucester Terrace in the Armley area of Leeds in West Yorkshire.

      Free on site parking, free gym, lots of opportunity for additional training and development.

      Hours

      37.5 hours, Monday to Friday 8-4pm, no weekends or evenings

      Salary

      This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £55,996 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

      Main duties of the job

      As an SMS Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will

      • Provide clinical leadership/management to the registered nurses and care teams.
      • Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
      • Coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support/contribute in undertaking audits and governance, contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non clinical Local Operating Protocols
      • Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry out investigations locally and for the wider region.
      • Deliver workshops to develop the teams learning in various areas such as clinical processes, documentation, patient care and joint Healthcare & HMPPS processes
      • Support the process of patient concerns, attend, contribute and progress actions from HMPPS/partnership meetings, oversee local patient engagement strategy
      • You will lead and support team with safeguarding, rota's and manage shortage, sign off agency nurses hours/ staff payroll

      Qualifications required

      • Registered Nurse Adult
      • Current professional qualification (NMC)
      • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
      • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
      • Prescribing would be advantageous
      • Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship
      • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
