- Develop and support an ecosystem of full-stack web applications to automate the DGM software design, build, and deployment processes
- Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement best -in-class software.
- Design and implement reliable, performant, and fault tolerant code based on requirements and/or user stories.
- Ensure reliable code by developing unit tests and test automation tools.
- Assist in code and design reviews.
- Train and mentor other team members in your area of expertise.
- Take part in agile team ceremonies such as scrum, sprint planning, and retrospective.
- Investigate, isolate, and identify solutions to reported software malfunctions.
- Create tools that provide insights to developers, engineers, and leadership across the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
- 1-3 years of experience with one or more of the following:
- Java, Python, and/or Angular
- JavaScript web-development frameworks
- RESTful web services.
- Relational and NOSQL databases.
- Git and GitHub for source control.
- SQL and MongoDB.
- General knowledge of and ability to translate customer requirements into technical specifications and documentation.
- Experience with user interface design and adjusting approach to user interaction and feedback.
- Understanding of Desired State Deployment Patterns.
- Understanding of algorithms and complex data structures.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Strong self-awareness. Able to know one’s abilities, commit to due dates, and hold oneself accountable.
- Experience with monarch software.
- Travel is not required, but the opportunity may arise if interested.

The Role
The AspenTech Digital Grid Management (DGM) business unit is looking for a Software Developer interested in creating and maintaining full-stack web application and automation tools to support our software operations.
In this role, you will be a member of an Agile development team that designs and implements complex installation utilities critical to the successful deployment of DGM software to our partners in the energy industry. This role’s contributions have highly visible impacts to the success of our business and the success of our software deployments.
