Join us as we build innovative services that integrate some of our 3rd party tools into Amazon Security's core platforms that protect our cloud from security threats. As a Software Development Engineer (SDE) for Amazon Security Platform Engineering, you will design, build, and manage services that enable detection and automation the mitigation of cybersecurity threats across all of Amazon's internal services, as well as Amazon's use of 3rd party clouds such as Azure and Google. We are looking for an SDE who is excited about designing and building solutions to solve challenging problems for mission critical systems that protect Amazon and our customer data.

We obsess over earning customer trust and the protection of our customers and their data. As part of our new team, you will set the groundwork for how we build, integrate, and operate tooling that provides system hardening, configuration best practices, mitigation of vulnerabilities, and the auditing of configurations of cloud resources across Amazon at a global scale. SDEs work with security engineers, system development engineers, and other SDEs as we leverage the full power and breadth of AWS technologies to build services that proactively protect every single AWS customer, both internally and externally, from security threats – not many teams can say that!

Key job responsibilities

Our Software Development Engineers solve complex architectural problems with simple solutions, where scalability, reliability, and availability are a must. You will work on a highly collaborative team that is willing to take calculated risks to deliver quickly without sacrificing maintainability. You will join a team that values strong intuition and logical thinking, while seeking metrics and other data sources to confirm our beliefs. You will stretch yourself and grow. You will share your knowledge with others and help others achieve. Our team members own everything end to end: design, development, testing, and deploying through rapid iteration. Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
