Your Role and Responsibilities
POSITION AVAILABLE
Software Engineer - Back End Developer, IBM Corporation, Durham, NC (Up to 60% telecommuting permitted): Participate in the architecture/design discussions for developing the cloud API infrastructure and controllers for the networking features and services of the company’s cloud. Follow agile software development practices such as sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint playbacks and retrospectives. Implement architecture/designs of the cloud network API features and its services, to be deployed on company’s data centers worldwide. Test the developed code on company’s internal test environments, to ensure a quality deliverable. Fix coding/design problems uncovered during test phases and Quality Assurance (QA) phase. Create/update cloud API software documentation for internal & end-user consumption. Work on call to triage/fix issues reported by internal stakeholder/customers, for code deployed on company’s production data centers worldwide. Handle triage and fixing of the issues reported by customers, while running their workloads on the production data centers. Interact with other technical leads, up-lines and/or program management to discuss, present and/or deliver periodic work status. Mentor new engineers hired in the department, for their quick ramp-up on the work involved. Utilize: Programming in Go/JavaScript , Shell Scripting, Microservices and Cloud Applications Development, Agile Software Development, Kubernetes and Docker Technologies, Cloud Computing, Data Structures, Data Modeling and Management, Computer Networking and Internet Protocols. Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience as a Software Developer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Programming in Go/JavaScript , Shell Scripting, Microservices and Cloud Applications Development, Agile Software Development, Kubernetes and Docker Technologies, Cloud Computing, Data Structures, Data Modeling and Management, Computer Networking and Internet Protocols. . $166,479.60 - $ 195,800.00 per year.
