What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Build and ship experiments that enhance discovery, ranking, and personalization for millions of users
- Evolve backend systems while balancing quick iteration with code health and scalability
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver impactful features
- Instrument and analyze experiments to inform subsequent iterations
- Advocate for simplicity in solutions, ensuring they are maintainable and measurable
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 4-5 years of backend development experience, with strong proficiency in languages such as Python or Java
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
- Ability to scope and deliver MVPs for early learning and data gathering
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, effectively communicating trade-offs and constraints
- A product mindset that connects backend work to measurable business impact
