      Job Summary:

      The Simulation Operation Specialist will have responsibility for the installation,
      maintenance, and general operation of sophisticated high, mid, and low fidelity
      simulation equipment, task trainers, audio-visual equipment, and computers used in the
      training of healthcare professionals. They should be able to provide exceptional
      customer service, including the ability to express technical information effectively to
      non-technical persons. Ideally the successful incumbent will also have knowledge of
      and experience with clinical training equipment and simulation lab operations. This
      position will report to an Immersive Learning Coordinator.

      Our Opportunity:

      This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to work in a professional
      learning community wherein faculty and staff contribute to and engage in instructional
      best practice for adult learners in an innovative, nontraditional university setting.
      Successful candidates in this role will reside in the Houston, TX, area or within a
      commutable distance.
      This position is located at on-site simulation centers to support
      the PG faculty and partnership location staff in simulation.

      What to expect in this role:

      ● Operate and maintain simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized
      simulators, audio-video recording systems, and virtual reality procedural trainers
      with the ability to follow medical aspects of scenarios, and make appropriate
      adjustments to technology systems.
      ● Set up and maintain the simulation lab and classroom, and manage lab supplies.
      ● Collaborate with vendors for maintenance and repair of equipment, including
      implementation hardware and software updates.
      ● Collaborate with clinical faculty during simulations, and coordinate learning
      activities with the faculty.
      ● Provide appropriate guidance to students in the simulation setting related to
      professionalism, practice, and research.
      ● Act as a standardized patient (actor in the role of a patient) when needed.
      ● Maintain current knowledge of the Nursing curriculum, policies, and
      requirements.
      ● Additional duties as may be assigned by the School.

      Experience:

      ● Some higher education; Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or comparable
      experience.
      ● 0-1 year of experience
      ● Interest in healthcare simulation, customer service experience
      ● Knowledge of Databases, Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software
      ● Use of PC, the Internet, simulation equipment, and basic nursing equipment
      ● Exceptional interpersonal skills, teamwork, and visionary leadership
      ● Valid driver's license in the state of employment and surrounding states

      Additional Information:

      ● The target salary is $60,000.
      ● Purdue University Global will not sponsor employment authorization for this position.

      ● FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)
