Job Description

- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for the Spanish locales, managing linguistic feedback from stakeholders and initiatives. Work closely with internal teams -including engineering, marketing, product, and localization - to align on content strategies and ensure consistent voice and tone across all touchpoints. Support local market teams on regional projects and campaigns.
- Localization Team Collaboration: Work with the Language Leads of Spanish to maintain brand identity and tone of voice across markets, leveraging shared resources such as glossaries and style guides. Provide ongoing feedback to support the client’s growth in Spain
- Continuous Quality Monitoring: Proofread major projects and user-first content such as the homepage and marketing communications. Perform ongoing QA on the client’s platforms, identifying localization and functional issues, and coordinating with engineering and product teams to triage and resolve bugs. Support with urgent translations or content creation as needed.
- Spanish speaker.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong background in localization, preferably in a tech-driven or content-rich environment.
- Previous experience as a Language Manager, Localization Specialist, or in a similar leadership role.
- Experience working with global brands or enterprise-level localization programs is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management and quality reporting.
- Ability to align linguistic work with broader business goals and regional market strategies, advocating for language quality with non-linguistic stakeholders.
- Experience managing glossaries, style guides, and localization QA.
- Familiarity with UI/UX localization.
- Proficiency in CAT tools.
- University degree or equivalent experience in translation, linguistics, or localization project management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Freelance contract (external contractor) for a maternity cover.
- 20 to 40 hrs per week.
- Remote position (covering the Spanish timezone).
- 10 months commitment.
- EMEA timezone.
- Must attend weekly meetings in EMEA timezone and may be invited to occasional meetings overlapping EMEA and USA time zones (optional).
Translated is looking for a Spanish Language Expert to support one of our top clients. This role requires collaboration with internal teams (engineering, marketing, product, and localization), key stakeholders to ensure high-quality localization and a seamless user experience.
This is a contract position with a 10-month commitment.
