- Assemble accurate documentation needed for credentialing providers with insurance companies
- Assist service providers with guidance and support needed to submit timely documentation for billing purposes
- Verify, compile, and update public and private insurance information for monthly billing
- Maintain system to reconcile outstanding insurance claims and payments received
- Provide Department Administrators with regular accounting reports and status updates for all invoicing and related contracts
- Ensure compliance with Early Intervention Program contract requirements and school district consortium contracts
- Develop monitoring and data tracking tools for program level development and compliance
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with providers and school districts regarding billing procedures
- Collaborate and build relationships with internal and external partners
- Facilitate securing potential funding sources to create additional department revenue
- Ensure completion and updates of System of Payments and Fees (SOPAF) documentation, including but not limited to consent to bill insurance, insurance collection within 45 days post-intake and pre-evaluation, annual IFSP and service change updates
- Provide fiscal support as requested, including connecting with clients and partners to coordinate and ensure child eligibility
- Develop and maintain accurate records

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree or equivalent credit hours, in related field preferred
- Two (2) years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, billing, and/or data processing, preferred
- Competence with the use of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and relevant equipment and software applications
- Must be detail orientated and complete tasks according to agency deadlines, policies and project timelines
- Exceptional personal/office organizational, teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and adjust to a changing work environment
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers, school district personnel, and other stakeholders
- Ability to maintain confidential information under both HIPPA/FERPA requirement
- Ability to operate all standard office machines and equipment.
- Represent agency in a professional manner
- WSP/ FBI background clearance required
- Proactive self-starter. A strong sense of taking initiative moving forward without waiting to be told what to do and how to do it.

SUMMARY: The primary role and responsibilities of the Special Services Billing Specialist will be to develop, manage and maintain a system to bill public and private insurance for families receiving early intervention services and school district consortium services. This work will be in coordination with an off-site billing agency and ESD fiscal staff.

Hourly Rate: Step 1/Year 1 ($24.33 per hr) - Step 5/Year 5 ($27.38 per hr)
