      Communications Specialist

      JOB SUMMARY:
      The Communications Specialist will work closely with the Marcom team to execute the day-to-day communications needs of the Think Together, Orenda, LSS and Talent Collaborative brands.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
      • Identify and pitch compelling stories that align with Think Together's mission to support donor engagement, education partnerships, and community awareness.
      • Research, write, edit, and fact-check content across multiple formats (e.g., articles, social media, advertisements, email campaigns), ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with AP Style guidelines.
      • Manage multiple projects with shifting priorities and deadlines, supporting campaign execution through coordination, outreach, asset management, and timely follow-through.
      • Conceptualize, draft, edit and publish content that is free from spelling, grammar, factual, or formatting errors, with minimal need for multiple revisions.
      • Generate creative content ideas quickly and adapt them to suit various digital platforms, including but not limited to reels, animated graphics and static social media posts, leveraging trends and analytics.
      • Manage a content calendar to meet production timelines and coordinate publishing across external and internal communication channels.
      • Monitor and manage social media inquiries ensuring prompt responses, appropriate escalation when necessary, and consistent engagement with the online community.
      • Optimize content for SEO and evaluate web content performance to increase search visibility and traffic.
      • Assist in media relations tasks including press release writing, media outreach, photo/video captioning, and editorial contributions.
      • Collaborate cross-functionally to support communications needs within campaigns and org-wide initiatives including coordination, asset management, stakeholder outreach, and content development
      • Plan and execute team meetings and site visits as needed; manage all logistical elements with urgency, professionalism, and precision, including occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
      • Represent the organization with professionalism and adaptability across diverse settings including school sites, community events, business meetings, conferences, and ceremonies.

      QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
      • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications or related field required. However, relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
      • 2-4 years of professional experience in communications, public relations or similar field
      • Experience working at Think Together site as program leader or site coordinator preferred
      • Excellent writing and proofreading skills - writing samples will be requested
      • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
      • A willingness to travel to regions in California to gather stories
      • Experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
      • Knowledge of and experience with social media platforms

      OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
      • Performs other duties as assigned.
      • Must adhere to all policies and procedure of Think Together
      • Exceptional attention to detail.
      • Strong facilitation and project management skills
      • Ability to provide a high level of support/guidance to staff and field as needed
      • Ability to carry out assignments independently with good time management skills
      • Interest in taking on new initiatives
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at the same time to completion on a timely basis
      • Must maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality

      COMPUTER SKILLS:
      • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Adobe
      • File Management (One Drive, Box, Dropbox, etc.)
      • Email, Internet, website, and social media platforms.
      • Use of typical office equipment

      PHYSICAL/WORK ENVIRONMENT DEMANDS:
      • Moderate Noise (examples: typical office noise)
      • Stand, Walk, Sit (in general office environment)
      • Computer Screen visual in performance of role
      • Lift up to 10 pounds
      • Travel up to 10-20%
      • Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting), provide a clear TB test

      COMPENSATION:
      • Salary Range $68,640-$70,000

      This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
