      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate outpatient facility and/or professional codes
      - Accurately extract clinical information from records using abstracting software
      - Resolve National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) and medical necessity edits to ensure clean claim submission
      - Research and resolve charge review, claim edits, and denials
      - Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and staff

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Coding certification: Certified Professional Coding Certification (CPC), (CPC-H), (CPC-P); or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or other related certification
      - Completion of coding training program including anatomy & physiology, medical terminology, and basic ICD-10 diagnostic and CPT procedural coding
      - Minimum 5 years of facility and/or professional coding experience
      - Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
      - Good working knowledge of Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS), Ambulatory Payment Classifications (APC), and National Correct Coding Initiative Policy (NCCI)

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Additional certifications from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)
      - Experience with Cerner Revenue Cycle software
      - Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
