      About the role

      We are looking for a Lead Project Planner to support the Project Controls Manager in analysing, reporting, and resolving issues with project implementation and ongoing project planning functions.

      The scope of the Planning function includes (but is not limited to) planning, reporting, developing benchmarking, reviewing schedules prepared by project teams, document controlling and managing relevant project processes and procedures.

      The purpose of this position is to provide guidance, insight and support where the size and complexity of project/ projects is significant enough to warrant strategic leadership within the owner’s team coupled with expert advice and support on scheduling issues.

      Reporting to the Principal Advisor Planning, you will:

      • Assist in planning, reporting, analysing and issue resolution of Rio Tinto Project’s Iron Ore Projects.
      • Accumulate historical schedule knowledge from across the portfolio of projects and disseminate to projects.
      • Monitor progress and assess performance against that in study and implementation phases.
      • Proactively provide guidance and support to Rio Tinto and EPCM project teams.
      • Provide technical planning support to studies and projects.
      • Provide progress assurance on studies and implementation projects independent of study teams within the Project Controls governance framework.
      • Participate in monthly progress reviews as required.
      • Participate in Schedule Risk analysis workshops as required.
      • Participate in TEG reviews as needed

      • Planning & monitoring engineering, procurement, construction & commissioning phases of major projects
      • Contracts experience
      • Good analytical skills
      • Claims analysis experience
