- Perform routine testing of in-process, final product and stability samples.
- Perform Environmental monitoring of cleanrooms
- May perform testing for method verification or method validation
- Perform data verification and review
- Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Support in documentation revision and review.
- Support in the management of laboratory reagent and material inventory
- Support in conducting lab investigations regarding EM excursions and deviations related to QC Microbiology procedures
- Support continuous improvement projects
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Any education preferably in Microbiology or related science (MLO level 4).
- Several years of relevant laboratory work experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Experience with microbiology assays and associated equipment.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment and follow regulatory requirements and GMPs.
- Flexible, able to deal with changing priorities
- Communicate effectively with peers and demonstrate teamwork

BMS is seeking to recruit a permanent Specialist, QC Microbiology. The QC Specialist is responsible for supporting Environmental Monitoring of the cleanrooms and Quality Control microbiology testing for release of clinical and commercial cell therapy drug product. This includes the ability to interface with multiple groups, the ability to independently perform tasks, interpret results, and troubleshoot. Additionally, in the start-up phase the QC Specialist may assist with Environmental Monitoring Qualification (EMPQ) of the cleanrooms and assay verification activities.
The unique opportunity at this moment is to be able to focus on a project first and develop in that area as BMS builds its team.
This role is stationed in Leiden and reports to the Supervisor, QC Microbiology.
