      Main duties of the job

      • Manage a case load of individual family referrals.
      • Assess the childs sleep problem to determine its nature and any contributing factors.
      • Work with families to develop a sleep plan encouraging the child or young person to develop positive sleep habits.
      • Provide advice and support to parents who are implementing a sleep programme.
      • Contribute to the organisation and delivery of sleep clinics and workshops.
      • Maintain high service standards and contribute to quality improvement across theTherapy & Specialist Support Service (TSS)Service in line with the needs of the service and evidence-based practice.
      • Work independently and use own initiative.
      • Apply evidence based and child centred principles.
      • Offer advice, training and guidance to other professionals as required.
      • Be accountable for all aspects of the role working to professional guidelines and Together Trust policy.
      • Ensure practice is up to date and be evidence based.
      • Participate in relevant education/training opportunities, read and critically appraise research articles and relevant literature, ensuring best practice in your day-to-day work.
      • Establish/maintain internal and external networks to maintain good standards of practice, embrace new initiatives for the service and enhance job satisfaction.
      • Be aware of any potential conflicts of interest and inform their manager of these.

      Job responsibilities

      Specialist Sleep Practitioner - Remote

      Hours: 22.5 per week,37.5 hours worked across 52 weeks per year

      Salary: £20,791.80

      Are you a passionate Specialist Sleep Practitioner ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Together Trust is looking for a Specialist Sleep Practitioner toprovide personalised advice and support to parents and carers of children and young people with sleep difficulties across all age and ability ranges and specialises in helping autistic people and those with complex communication needs.

      What You will do;

      • Manage a case load of individual family referrals.

      What we are looking for;

      • Specialist Sleep training & qualification
      • Recognised professional qualification to degree level or equivalent experience
      • Experience of working with autistic children and those with complex needs including ADHD.
      • Experience of successful practice in working with parents and families.
      • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
      • Knowledge and understanding at both theoretical and practical levels of current perspectives on autism and SEN.
      • Knowledge of specific approaches to working with autistic people, both structured and unstructured, e.g. TEACCH, PECS, Social Stories.
      • Ability to use and apply knowledge of autism to plan intervention programmes.
