  Sr AI Practice Innovation Lead – Big Law
  
  Summary
  We are one of the largest law firms in the world, and are seeking the right person to join in our innovation team, to lead our Gen AI/LLM strategy so we can optimize value for our clients for years to come.
  
  This position will work with key business/legal stakeholders to ideate on use cases, design solutions, identify strategic vendors to partner with, and collaborate with internal IT to drive AI/LLM strategy from soup to nuts.
  
  You will develop business cases, lead vendor evaluations and present recommendations to executive committees. Subsequently, you will drive implementation of the AI solutions and adoption firm-wide on a global scale.
  
  This is a leadership position, where you will be managing a growing team over time.
  
  If you have an extensive background in Gen AI, Data Science, Machine Learning and/or LLMs, and you come from a big law background, we are excited to speak with you!
  
  What you'll be doing
  
  Product Evaluation & Proof of Concepts
  • Support team and organization-wide initiatives and special projects centered around the deployment and management of legal technology, assessing new technology trends (e.g., GenAI), and driving process enhancements.
  • Handle the end-to-end management of attorney-focused pilot programs and product assessments with minimal oversight. Responsibilities include defining goals, scope, timeline, success metrics, and managing key stakeholders.
  • Craft and manage project plans, allocate resources efficiently, and drive cross-functional teams toward project milestones, addressing risks and challenges as they arise.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop business cases and provide recommendations for selecting legal tools and technologies.
  
  Implementation and Rollout of AI Solutions
  • Lead the strategic planning, execution, and monitoring of projects aimed at implementing AI and legal tech solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and deliverables.
  • Create detailed project timelines, resource plans, and allocation strategies to ensure implementation within set parameters.
  • Track project progress, pinpoint risks, and introduce strategies to ensure timely and quality outcomes.
  • Take ownership of project completion, engaging necessary input from various departments and stakeholders.
  
  Subject Matter Expert (SME) Support
  • Act as a subject matter expert in AI and legal tech solutions, offering ongoing guidance and support to internal teams.
  • Actively participate in technology testing and proof of concept (POC) activities to assess the potential of new solutions.
  • Keep informed of industry developments, best practices, and emerging trends in AI and legal tech to guide informed decision-making
  
  Vendor Management
  • Oversee relationships with external vendors and partners involved in delivering and supporting AI solutions.
  • Lead vendor selection, negotiation, and contract processes to ensure alignment with project needs and organizational goals.
  
  Team Development & Management
  • Join a leadership team that values fostering a culture of transparent, constructive communication and collaboration across departments. This role involves addressing the development needs of the team, including identifying and coordinating relevant training programs. Additionally, you'll lead various team and subgroup administrative meetings and will ultimately take on direct functional management responsibilities.
  
  Communications and Change Management
  • Approach emerging tech opportunities with a growth-oriented mindset while assessing and identifying key risks; explore innovative ways to communicate project information to colleagues across the organization.
  
  Coordination with Practitioners and Support Teams
  • Work closely with firm practitioners, IT, Risk, and Security teams to ensure AI solutions align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and security standards.
  • Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders to support effective communication and problem resolution.
  
  Skills we're seeking
  • 10+ years of experience working in Big Law and/or AI/Client solutions
  • 5+ years of experience with AI/Client from a solutions standpoint
  • 5+ years of experience working in big law environments
  • 2+ years of experience driving AI/Client solutions in a big law environment
  • Keen understanding of GenAI/LLM trends in big law
  • Experience driving technology implementations from end-to-end
  • Experience presenting solutions to executives/boards
  
  Nice to haves
  • Master's Degree or JD
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Previous experience as an attorney
  • Project Management experience, ideally in a PMO environment
