      Sr. Buyer / Planner, LM East Position Summary

      Plays a dual role in the successful execution of material procurement and production planning to support internal manufacturing operations. Monitors inventory levels, creates and manages work orders for internal builds, and procures raw materials, components, and production supplies. Proactively ensure material availability aligns with production schedules, balancing short-term execution with long-term inventory health and supply chain efficiency.

      Essential Functions

      • Inventory Planning & Production Coordination
        • Strategically oversee inventory on-hand and consumption to maintain optimal stock levels of components, materials, and WIP.
        • Create and maintain Work Orders for internal manufacturing areas, ensuring alignment with production demand and capacity.
        • Evaluate MRP and production forecasts to release work orders and issue purchase orders accordingly.
        • Adjust schedules and resources in response to labor, quality, and material constraints.
        • Communicate shortages and coordinate remediation plans with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
      • Procurement & Supplier Management
        • Issue and manage purchase orders for raw materials, indirect materials, and production supplies.
        • Track open orders, confirm deliveries, and ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
        • Leverage advanced procurement methodologies maintaining supplier communication to resolve delivery delays, quality issues, or quantity discrepancies.
        • Partner with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoices and support timely payments.
        • Share monthly rolling forecasts and PO visibility with suppliers as needed.
      • ERP System Management & Data Accuracy
        • Maintain ERP system data accuracy for item masters, BOMs, routings, safety stock, and lead times.
        • Track and analyze variances in inventory and production to support planning adjustments.
        • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) by updating affected items and routings.
        • Generate standard reports to monitor inventory performance, supplier delivery, and work order fulfillment.
      • Cross-functional & Strategic Support
        • Support new product introductions and EOL transitions with appropriate planning and material readiness.
        • Participate in cycle counts and inventory reconciliation processes.
        • Represent planning in cross-functional meetings (e.g., production huddles, SIOP).
        • Proactively recommend process improvements to optimize flow, reduce waste, and improve data accuracy.

      Education and/or Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or combination of experience and education required.
      • Institute of Supply Management CPSM/CSM/CPM certification preferred.
      • 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing planning, procurement, or supply chain operations.
      • Advanced experience working with ERP/MRP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O preferred).
      • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, PowerBI, PowerApps).
      • Proficiency in using advanced planning and scheduling software, and ERP data management.
      • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to influence and lead across cross-functional teams and projects.

      Working Conditions/Physical Hazards

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in a production environment. Work area is well lit. All employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.
