      Reporting to the VP of Sustain, the Senior Director of the Sustain Management Office will work closely with the Sustain leadership team, Sustain Management Office (SMO) team, and Senior Leaders across Mass General Brigham to drive cross-functional operations and provide oversight for Sustain. This position will play a key leadership role in coordinating initiatives across Sustain and with other system initiatives to meet the overall objectives and goals of Sustain: to generate ~$125M+ in annualized savings for MGB, in perpetuity. They will guide a team of Sr. Consultants, Project Coordinators and Change Managers, building standardized processes and best practices for rapidly identifying, launching and implementing Sustain initiatives. This role will also be responsible for building and managing a program-wide schedule for initiative implementation and tracking stakeholder impact across Sustain initiatives. They will build change management capability within the Sustain Management Office to maintain a focus on the impact of these changes to our people and ensure we are providing the right level of support to catalyze change.

      • Build and share best practices to support Sustain teams in rapid identification, launch and implementation of initiatives
      • Establish and manage a Sustain-wide program plan to track initiative progress on launch and implementation and inform realization schedules. Align deliverables as needed across initiatives.
      • Track stakeholder impact across Sustain and coordinate interdependencies between initiatives.
      • In coordination with Sustain leadership manage key stakeholders involved in the program and initiatives, including preparing communications for the Steering Committee, other key stakeholder communications and/or coordinating with the Communications or Change Management teams to provide adequate resourcing for the communications and change management functions required for the program
      • Identify and manage program-level issues and risks. Develop mitigations strategies and/or escalate as needed.
      • Establish and manage a resourcing model for determining project and change management support for Sustain Core and Initiative teams.
      • Prepare reports to be shared with key stakeholders and leaders across MGB.
      • Synthesize and determine the best path forward between Sustain initiatives with other projects in the broader MGB organization
      • Define the program structure and adapt as needed to meet the needs of the Sustain program including, but not limited to such things as program controls, decision making, reporting, meeting cadence.
      • Assess program performance and track progress of overall financial and operational improvements through metrics developed and agreed upon in conjunction with the Sustain leadership team
      • Oversee the program support resourcing needs (e.g., project managers/coordinators) recruiting and hiring strategies, creating new mechanisms for proactive planning, insights, and transparency
      • Collaborate with MGB services teams (PMO, Transformation, Communications) to manage assigned resources, providing tasks, direction, and opportunities for development and helping resources coordinate between initiatives and across the program
      • Collaborate with the Sustain Communications Team to ensure initiative-specific communications plans are integrated into the broader Sustain communications plan
      • Ensure core change management capability exists within those people/roles supporting Sustain teams.
      • Partner with the VP of Transformation to build change management skills, provide core tools and best practices for change management, and provide ongoing coaching to project managers and others who support the Sustain Initiative teams
      • Partner with the VP of Transformation to develop approaches for measuring change adoption and addressing performance gaps.
      • Partner with MGB services teams (HR, Transformation, Project Management Office, Learning and Development and Communications) to ensure role descriptions, competencies and expectations are in place to support broad change management within Sustain

      • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

      • Bachelor’s degree in required. A Master’s degree preferred
      • 8-10 years of experience working as a system leader, consultant or project manager in large-scale change initiatives
      • Experience utilizing project management tools to effectively organize, track, and lead large-scale projects from conception to completion.
      • In depth knowledge of hospital operations both clinical and non-clinical
      • Proficient with time and attendance and scheduling applications
