      Primary Objectives

      Lead and implement the overall EHS activities of the Utsunomiya R&D, KSP R&D, and Tokyo office.

      Comply Japanese regulatory and DuPont safety standards, collaborate with Asia Pacific region E&I EHS Group and carry out the effective and efficient EHS activities to protect all people’s safety and health working in the sites.

      Key Accountability

      • As Utsunomiya/KSP/Tokyo EHS leader, he/she has the responsibility for all EHS activities.

      • Communicate closely with business/R&D leaders for EHS improvement at the sites.

      • Provide safety training, guidance and/or consultation to site people for working safely at the sites.

      • Work with E&I Global / AP team about EHS program to be effectively implemented at the sites.

      • Develop Site Sustainable program.

      • Create and update EHS Site Rules and procedures for the sites in accordance with Japanese regulatory and DuPont EHS standards

      • Implement new and refresh training for site personnel in accordance with site rules. Ex) First day orientation of new comer at the sites, Safety training for contractors, ergonomics training, etc.

      • Make the materials with details at the EHS event happened, investigate the case, and make the corrective and preventive action plan.

      • Safety equipment review at the sites.

      • Check the suitability of the Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) used on the sites.

      • Consultation anything about EHS related issues.

      • Respond to internal and external audits related to EHS ex) 2nd party audit in DuPont/ISO audit, etc.

      • Industrial Waste Management at the sites.

      • Review/Approval for EHS Project/new machine installation/new chemical purchasing, etc.

      • Notification to Local government officeLocal Labor office/Fire station etc.management

      Specific competencies required

      Essential:

      • BS/BA degree or equivalent is preferable

      • Good communication skill in oral and written manners- including reading and writing in English

      • Ability / or a developing competence in the following:

        • Conduct EHS activity together with leaders and other members.

        • Initiative and self-motivation

        • Accuracy and attention to detail

        • Professionalism

        • Proactivity, creativity and innovation

        • Computer literate

        • Logical, methodical and analytical thought processes

        • Technical problem solving skills

        • Planning, time management, organizational skills and influencing skills

        • Demonstrate ability to effectively develop process/program improvement opportunities across functional and regional boundaries

        • Networking skill with Japan/AP/Global members

      • Key relationships

        Internal:
        Frequent contact : Engineers/Chemists at each site, site/business Leaders,
        Usual contact : Japan/AP/Global E&I EHS member
        External:
        Local government offices : Fire station, labor office, environmental office, etc.
