What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Complete rate development templates, supplemental data requests, and Medical Loss Ratio reporting for external regulatory agencies
- Develop, interpret, and implement financial models for planning and analysis
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and interim forecasts
- Provide statistical, analytical, and technical support in the State rate-setting process
- Create presentations to inform senior leadership about the financial performance of the health plan
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, preferably in the healthcare field
- Experience using SQL to extract data from a data warehouse
- Significant experience analyzing large volumes of data, including data extraction and reporting via SQL server, Access, and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with developed presentation abilities
- BS required; MS Degree preferred in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Healthcare, or a related field
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience using IBM Cognos Business Intelligence tools or similar software
- Knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medicaid, or medical claims processing
- Professional certification in a technical discipline such as SQL or Cognos
- Advanced experience working with Excel functions, Access, and SQL
- Prior experience in healthcare
