What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Write clean, scalable software adhering to industry best practices
- Design and implement solutions in the cloud, specifically using AWS
- Develop documentation and proposals to explain existing and proposed architectures and designs
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while balancing feature delivery and tech debt reduction
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to communicate and coordinate project requirements
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with at least one full cycle implementation
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript/React, relational databases, and AWS
- Experience designing and implementing web or mobile applications with a microservice back end
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and common web protocols such as ReST and OAuth
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in building highly scalable and performant distributed systems with high availability
- Ability to write clear, maintainable, extensible, and testable code
- Flexibility to work in Eastern/Central time zones
