      Job Description:

      The Merchant Specialist (MS) is the primary sales lead for merchant services working in partnership with the GPS and LOB sales teams and clients across Public Sector Banking to drive net new sales/relationships. The remit could include regional focus in the east and central regions but will target Public Sector clients including Federal, State and Local Governments as well as Public Education, Tolling and Transit. Industry specialists will have a deep understanding of segment verticals – including growth opportunities and challenges; know industry specific tools including managed service fee requirements. Regional/LOB aligned associates will need to have a deep and wide understanding of the client segment, Payment ecosystem, merchant processing and how to match our solutions against the needs of our clients. The MS's primary objective is to drive new sales within their vertical market/segment. Through the client engagement process, the MS will provide consultative services to highly complex processing configurations that result in architected solution which afford clients the ability to process payments in the most optimal and efficient way possible.

      Required Skills:

      • Candidates should possess a deep understanding of the client’s payments ecosystem and the ability to integrate and leverage our suite of solutions effectively. They will work across a matrixed coverage organization to deliver responsible growth and serve as the merchant point of contact for our bankers, Client Managers and leaders on merchant business development, advice, and overall portfolio management activities. This role requires travel to in-person meetings with clients, internal partners, and senior leaders within the firm.
      • The role also includes all sales administration functions, including developing and maintaining a strong pipeline, pre-call planning, client needs assessments, preparation and presentation of product proposals, price/cost analysis, submission of implementation documentation

      Desired Skills:

      • RFP/RFI response experience both in overseeing written proposals as well as oral presentations. Contract negotiation skills from a sales perspective with support from legal and contract management.

      Pay and benefits information

      Pay range

      $123,500.00 - $165,800.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

      Discretionary incentive eligible

      This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
