  The Opportunity

  Are you a senior accounting professional with oil and gas operations accounting experience? Do you thrive in high volume, fit for purpose work environments? We are #hiring a Sr Operations Analyst for our Calgary head office. If you have the unique ability to present and communicate information in meaningful ways to leaders and stakeholders outside the accounting discipline, we want to hear from you!

  With a focus on capital, you will understand the current capital program, prepare journal entries, analyze ongoing transactions, and communicate monthly results. You will gain excellent exposure to our business and have interactions with other disciplines. You will join a team that values its people and provides work with purpose.

  What you will do

  • Prepare accurate and timely accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations for month- end close processes

  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial results, including variance analyses at monthly review meetings

  • Participate in the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for capital

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in IT, engineering, joint venture accounting and contracts, production accounting, and land departments to solve problems

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to improve efficiency, increase accuracy, and strengthen internal controls

  What you will bring

  • 10 years of operations accounting experience within the oil and gas industry

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a CPA designation strongly preferred

  • Advanced excel skills

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage high volume tasks

  • Strong communicator with a demonstrated ability to present to leadership

  • SAP experience is preferred
