Amazon's Social Responsibility program drives customer trust, business continuity, and sustainable social impact by embedding respect for human rights and the environment throughout Amazon’s entire value chain. We implement company-wide standards and commitments such as our Global Human Rights Principles (GHRP) and Supply Chain Standards (SCS). We seek to continuously improve the tools and processes used in integrating human rights and environmental due diligence across the business.
The Worldwide Social Responsibility (WWSR) team is looking for a Senior Program Manager, Business Engagement who will manage the team’s partnership with specific business units to execute responsible sourcing and business development strategies in support of GHRP and SCS. This person will also serve as the programmatic lead for internal, cross-functional collaboration, and information sharing within the larger WWSR Team.
Key job responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact (Account Manager) for select business teams within WWSR; provide leadership, strategy, and technical direction to Amazon businesses within your account portfolio
• Educate business teams on social responsibility best practices to enable them to effectively implement programs and policies
• Advise business teams on key social responsibility issues that might impact sourcing or production plans, and provide risk-based recommendations
• Manage and refine (as needed) the process for onboarding new WWSR business partners
• Find a path forward in difficult situations, and makes trade-offs between short-term needs vs. long-term needs
• Improve, streamline, and/or eliminates excess processes or controls to drives program efficiencies
• Manage the Business Strategy and Integration (BSI) team’s mechanisms for consolidating and sharing WWSR recommendations and guidance to business SR teams

Arlington, VA, USA | New York City, NY, USA | San Francisco, CA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA• Bachelor’s degree in human rights, law, public policy, engineering, ethics, economics, business, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in business and human rights, social impact, corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, social justice, and/or related field
• Experience applying the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and/or other leading human rights due diligence, and social risk management frameworks
• Experience with multi-stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and collaboration
• Track record of working independently and with a diverse set of partners to solve complex, large-scale issues
• 5+ years of experience working as a project lead or manager
• Master’s degree in human rights, law, public policy, engineering, ethics, economics, business, or related field
• 12+ years of experience in business and human rights, social impact, corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, social justice, and/or related field
• 5+ years of experience working in social responsibility or sustainability
• Demonstrated experience using judgment skills and abilities to make decisions quickly
• Attention to detail
• Experience using written communication skills
• Ability to analyze and propose data-driven solutions
• Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems; identifying customer needs and inventing new and efficient ways to meet those needs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
