- Develop project scopes, one-line diagrams, and estimates for substation projects.
- Review substation construction drawings, including electrical arrangements, plan and section views, grounding, cable and conduit drawings, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
- Engineer and design lightning protection, grounding, and equipment replacement and repair for substations.
- Make changes and corrections to drawings and documentation as necessary.
- Verify the proper use of equipment and material according to project documentation standards and codes.
- Ensure timely ordering and delivery of material and equipment for substation construction.
- Travel to project sites for walk downs and gather information to develop accurate requirements for substation projects.
- Lead substation projects and coordinate work activities within the department.
- Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees.
- Initiate corrective action when substation project objectives are not being met.
- Five to eight years of experience in utilities working with protection and controls.
- Five to eight years of experience completing engineering projects from start to finish.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proficiency in substation design, AutoCAD, and electrical drafting.
- A PE License is desirable but not required.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
