      Required Qualifications (as evidenced by attached resume):
      Course work in earth sciences, marine sciences, mathematics, physics, or a related STEM field. Experience programming in MATLAB and/or Python. Related research experience.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Research experience in the area of coastal oceanography.

      Brief Description of Duties:
      The Senior Research Analyst will work under the supervision of Principal Investigator, Dr. Jacqueline McSweeney in the McSweeney Laboratory, carrying out specific research analysis tasks for a sponsored project on internal waves using MATLAB. The successful candidate will have an aptitude for technical skills, such as debugging, and have the ability to think critically and troubleshoot programming challenges independently.

      • Using a predetermined scope and methodology, analyze data using MATLAB.
      • Discuss findings with Principal Investigators and collaborators.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.


      This position may be eligible for alternative workplace arrangements/telework with the opportunity to work remotely at times.

      This is a short-term, temporary position, with full-time hours for seven (7) months.
