      EA Create Capture, a versatile team mostly based between Vancouver, Canada, Orlando, Florida and Los Angeles, California is best known for creating amazing work in titles such as EASFC, NHL, UFC, Battlefield, and Madden to name a few; and we're looking to expand our team for a Senior Technical Artist to join our Los Angeles team.

      Senior Technical Artist - Capture

      As a Senior Technical Artists, you are the backbone for our department, working to bridge the gap between art and technology, guiding our on-stage support and collaborating to create tools. Reporting to the Technical Art Director, you will spend your time improving processes, overseeing your area of focus, and partnering with the Capture Leadership to accomplish project goals.

      You will:

      • Support the technical direction of the motion capture pipeline, including face and virtual cinematography
      • Implement best practices, workflows and pipelines for motion capture and cinematic pipelines
      • Ensure the motion capture pipeline is efficient and reliable
      • Collaborate with inter-departmental technical leadership to align development tasks
      • Work with partners to translate project requirements into solutions that integrate into game engines
      • Lead improvements within the Capture space, both visual and technical
      • Define and estimate tasks / deliverables
      • Mentor a diverse team of technicians and acquisition specialists

      Qualifications:

      • 6+ years of experience with motion capture and video game animation development; preferably with AAA video games titles
      • Experience with motion capture technology and animation tools (eg., Maya, MotionBuilder, Unreal), and software (eg., Vicon, Optitrak, XSens)
      • Realtime visualization and virtual cinematography expertise
      • Proficiency with image-based 3D character scanning
      • Familiarity with leading game engines such as Frostbite, Unity, and Unreal
      • Scripting tools for development and pipeline workflows (Python, C#)
      • Familiarity with game development pipelines and processes, including rigging, animation implementation and optimization for real-time engines

      Bonus:

      • Familiarity with 3D Scanning technologies
      • Maya/MotionBuilder API Familiarity
      • Rigging Experience
      • Knowledge of C++

      US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

      The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

      BASE SALARY RANGES

      • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): º $113,300 - $171,700

      Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
