      The position is telework eligible consistent with the Agency’s telework and remote work program policy.

      This position is located in the Accreditation Group (AG), Office of Postsecondary Education in Washington, DC. This Division is responsible for following principal functions within the Department administering the process by which accrediting agencies and state approval agencies are recognized by the Secretary.

      • Males 18 and over must be registered with the Selective Service.
      • Must be a US Citizen.
      • Must complete a background Investigation and Fingerprint check.

      Qualifications


      Minimum Qualification Requirements
      You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-09, if you possess the specialize experience, education, or a combination of the two.

      Specialized Experience for the GS-9
      One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-07 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:
      1. Experience using proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting for the purpose of proofreading, drafting letters and memorandums to be disseminated to senior level personnel, agency personnel, and other leaders in education.
      2. Experience utilizing standard office automation systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases to conduct research projects, update websites, and assist with planning and scheduling.
      3. Experience following travel procedures to assist with initiating and completing travel vouchers.

      OR

      A combination of both education and experience in which the total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
      The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs).       1. Knowledge of the functions, authorities, and organizational structure of government agencies.
      2. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and government required format for correspondence and other written materials.
      3. Knowledge of administrative concepts and practices sufficient to enable the incumbent to devise and install office procedures and practices affecting the entire Accreditation Group.
      4. Knowledge of governmental correspondence and travel procedures.
      5. Knowledge of standard office automation systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
