      Overview

      The Staff Assistant for the Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF) directs patrons, answers telephones; provides scheduling, programs and community resources information to the general public.

      Responsibilities

      • Provides coverage.
      • Prepares office correspondence, vendor payments, program reports, and other related materials.
      • Creates, updates, and maintains filing system, personnel time, attendance, and bookkeeping materials.
      • Orders office supplies and program and facility supplies as required.
      • Schedules appointments.
      • Payroll preparations and distributions.
      • Performs other related duties as required.

      Minimum Entrance Qualifications

      • Two (2) years of experience in administrative work is required. Appropriate education may be substituted for the required experience on a prorated basis.
      • Working knowledge of computers: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
      • Ability to type 30 wpm.
      • Good verbal and written skills are preferred.
      • Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic work environments.
      • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

      C.O.R.I. & S.O.R.I. check required.

      BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
