- Demonstrates professional and customer service focused behavior at all times, including manner of communication, responsibility and appearance.
- Preparing patient charts and gathering information and documents from patients
- Ensuring that the medical records are organized, accurate and complete
- Creating digital copies of paperwork and storing the records electronically in Epic, electronic medical record system
- Safeguarding patient records and ensuring that everyone complies with the HIPAA standards
- Accurately, appropriately and efficiently schedules services, tests, procedures and appointments for multiple departments, adhering to specific department guidelines and protocols, ensuring service excellence at all times.
- Gathers complete and accurate patient type, demographic and billing information. Pre-registers patients in a timely and efficient manner.
- Advises patient of any insurance authorization and referral requirements and ensures timely transfer of registration information to ensure financial clearance and appropriate reimbursement.
- Screens patients making sure that they are at the right location and have been cleared to be tested
- Assist in inventory management to ensure clinics are stocked and organized
- Provides general information about Swedish Medical Group physicians for patients who contact the physician referral service.
- Enables easy, convenient access to the services they need in a friendly, efficient and timely manner.
- Functions within Access Services as part of a team to provide superior service and satisfaction to all internal and external customers.
- Provide chaperone support during sensitive exams and procedures
- Travel to off-site Swedish Medical Group locations as needed
- Performs other duties as requested by the supervisor.
- Direct contact or phone contact with patients and medical staff.
- Wear an N95 mask / PAPR and other PPE
- Walking, bending, stooping, long periods of stationary standing, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Must be able to assist with occasional heavy lifting of 100+ pounds.

This is a role to assist in providing staff support in an Outpatient environment. Outpatient: This role may help answer phones, schedule appointments, and gather general information to register patients.
