      About the role


      Under limited supervision, the Standards & Certifications Engineer works with third-party certifiers in obtaining safety certifications for Leviton products and works with the design groups to ensure compliance to all voluntary and regulatory standards are met.


      Responsibilities

      • Handles assigned agency certification projects
      • Develops a series of alternate solutions to business problems and recommends the most appropriate method of implementation
      • Compiles information and data necessary for reporting to management
      • Responsible for planning, monitoring and reporting to management on procedures and processes
      • Coordinates corporate responses to regulatory proposals
      • Interfaces with various engineering organizations in the interpretation of standards and test requirements for new and existing products
      • Ensures interpretation of policies across departmental lines
      • Any activities that the head of the Department deems necessary
      • Responsible for the maintenance of electronic data bases to improve department efficiency as well as being utilized as a method for disseminating information corporate-wide
      • Downloads and monitors all incoming standards and bulletins
      • Electronically stores and routes all relevant documents to effected departments, F.B.U' s, subsidiaries and manufacturing sites

      Qualifications

      • A working knowledge of product agency submittals, UL/CSA/IEC required.
      • Strong computer skills are a must


      Education & Experience

      • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical or Physics
      • An AAS degree or technical certificate with 5 years in Product Compliance is also suitable provided candidate continues schooling for a Bachelor’s Degree
      • 3 years’ in the Product Safety Compliance field is preferred
      • Design experience is preferred.

      Travel

      • Up to 10% travel to various third-party certification labs located within North America, as well as Leviton facilities, is expected
