- Works closely with Advancement leadership and development directors to develop specific and personalized strategic engagement plans for top donors and prospects to cultivate increased giving
- Gathers narrative and financial gift information and relevant photos for scholarships, chairs, professorships, support funds, and other funds for impact reports
- Ensures donor information and preferences are accurately reflected in reports, acknowledgments, presentations, and other pieces
- Ensures all communications are accurately recorded in the database utilized by the Office of Advancement
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, History or a related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills
- Ability to learn to use technology needed to serve donors
- Detail-oriented with a drive to effectively manage a project from start to finish.
- Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible.
- Ability to establish the trust of colleagues and build strong relationships with key faculty/staff
- Experience in higher education or a non-profit preferred
- Basic experience with InDesign preferred

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Stewardship Manager for the Office of Advancement with the Donor Relations and Engagement team. This position is responsible for leading the institution’s stewardship and engagement efforts with a focus on top-level donors, including corporations and foundations. The employee will design and implement meaningful ways to show gratitude to donors, including but not limited to the creation of digital and print impact reports, PowerPoint presentations, written acknowledgments, and coordination of impact videos.
This position will report to the Senior Director of Advancement Communications.
This position is hybrid-eligible after the probationary period.
Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
Annual Salary Range: $50,050 - $60,000
