      Job Description

      The Store Development Specialist is responsible for coordinating and communicating store and real estate projects, providing reports as needed, and partnering with Special Projects and Construction as needed to ensure work is completed on time. This position involves tracking project timelines, managing invoice submittals, project reporting, closed store scheduling as directed by Real Estate and temporary closings as necessary. Project types will include new stores, relocations, expansions, renovations, closings, re-openings and special projects

      Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance
      • Responsible for completing the appropriate steps for store closings related to store fixtures, merchandise and inventory levels; identify need to liquidate or recover store fixtures working in conjunction with Fixed Assets; act as the liaison between Inventory Control and outside suppliers to trigger merchandise price reductions; monitor inventory levels in replenishable merchandise and DSD; schedule store closings with supplier and ensure due diligence on completed closings
      • Confirm, schedule, and publish closing store listing
      • Provide scorecard for projects
      • Review Temporary Closings for Reopening status. Coordinate scope of work to have the store ready for reopening
      • Review, submit, log, and track Third Party Vendor invoices
      • Process and publish project reporting as needed
      • Coordinate the onboarding of new Project Managers. Ensure each new Associate receives all the tools necessary to begin their career with Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. Be the new Associate’s contact for the first 9 weeks to assist in any way possible and verifying all paperwork has been submitted. This also includes recovery of Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. property upon separation
      • Maintain the master Departmental Personnel List and Organization Chart. Track all address, phone number, etc. changes and make updates
      • Back up for various Store Development Support duties
      • Partner with appropriate parties to assign and schedule all Store Development project managers to projects weekly; ensure the most cost effective scheduling while maintaining timelines
      • Coordinate assignment of 3rd party supplies to projects as needed; manage special requests
      • Receive and coordinate all request for special projects, re-openings, and pre-expansions
      • Provide timely reports regarding the status of all projects
      • Create and implement new procedures, best practices useful tools and efficiencies for new and existing stores
      • Follow all Company policies and procedures
      • Other duties as assigned

      Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.
      • Minimum three years of experience coordinating processes for a retail chain and reading/working with schematics. General merchandising and field experience required
      • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office
      • Able to work independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment with high comfort level for and adaptability to change
      • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to meet project deadlines in a fast paced environment.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships across all levels.
      • Detail orientated
      • Strong organizational skills; ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to see implications and provide solutions and recommendations
      • Knowledge of sequencing and merchandising
      • Must be able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule forms
      • Office work environment, 40+ work hours per week
      • Must be able to work non-traditional hours as needed
      • Travel is 0% up to 10% of the time

      Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required.
      • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent and relevant work experience
      • Advanced-level skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
      • SLM experience
      • Store operations knowledge base
