Department Overview:
The Mead Witter School of Music is a comprehensive, leading school of music serving approximately 325 undergraduate majors and graduate students in BA, BS, BM, MA, DMA, and PhD degree programs. 1 Qualifications:
1. Previous experience scripting in Python, or equivalent language.
2. Knowledge of Metadata standards and CSV manipulation
3. Previous experience linking files to metadata records for bulk import
4. In depth knowledge of digital asset management workflowsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Expected Duties:
1. Digital Asset Linking via Scripting
• Download all scanned files from each Library Shared Google Drive and hard drives/flash drives
• Use scripting (Python recommended) to:
Match scanned PDF filenames to appropriate metadata records using Set Number when possible
For records that do not have a set number, rely on Title and Composer Name
Create and populate a Digital Asset Link column in the CSVs before import
• Ensure that asset links are structured to work with Elevator’s file display or preview functionality
• Handle exceptions for other media types (e.g., audio or video); these are rare
2. Metadata Import
• Use Elevator’s import functionality to upload CSVs into existing metadata templates (already created)
• Maintain relational connections between Works, Sets, and Performances using identifiers
• Validate that all records and file links display as expected
3. Page Design and Navigation
• Configure the layout of record view pages for:
Works → Sets → Performances
Sets → Linked digital files
• Ensure clear navigation between related records
• Confirm that file previews/downloads work reliably within the interfacePhysical Demands:
Must be able to work at a computer screen for many hours at a time
