About the company
Gordon–Conwell Theological Seminary is an evangelical seminary with its main campus in Hamilton, Massachusetts and three other campuses in Boston, Massachusetts; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Jacksonville, Florida.
Under the supervision of the Director of Advancement Services, this position assists the Advancement team with data entry, customer service, and general office support. This is a part-time (10-15 hours/week) student employment position on the Hamilton campus. Applicants must be current, eligible GCTS students to be considered.
Qualifications
• Availability – Students must be able to commit to 10-15 hours per week consistently throughout the year. Strong preference for availability through the summer months.
• Strong administrative/organizational skills – This is an administrative position which requires very high attention to detail, a capacity for multi-tasking, and flexibility that allows one to work in a team setting, potentially working on projects for multiple Advancement staff at once.
• Computer skills – Prior experience in an office assistant or data entry role is a plus. A willingness and capacity to learn new software programs is required.
• Communication skills – Applicants should exhibit a pleasant and professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to articulate clearly in verbal and written forms.
• Confidentiality – the Advancement office handles sensitive information regarding students, staff, and donors. Strict adherence to confidentiality practices is required.
General Responsibilities
• Data entry tasks, including gift entry and quality control
• Scanning and filing gift documentation
• Mailing gift receipts and other mailings as needed
• Customer service, including email and occasional phone interaction with donors and students
• Database clean-up projects as assigned
• Other projects as assigned
