A loving, busy, family with professional working parents in Madison, Wisconsin is looking for a reliable and energetic summer help. The family enjoys the outdoors, time with friends, and travel. The family has two daughters, ages 16 and 13, who attend public school. Both children are engaging, fun, and enjoy time with their caregivers. The older child has motor, learning, and language delays so acceptance of developmental disabilities and difference is a must - but experience is not. The position involves supporting the children and helping around the home and community. The kids are both on the Shorewood Sharks swim team, so there is a lot of time at the pool and driving the kids to activities and fun. Household tasks may include: children’s laundry and bedding, kids dishes, groceries for the kids, some easy meal preparation, and maintaining an organized and tidy environment for the children. There is a vehicle for caregivers to use in the greater Madison area and memberships to the zoo, art museum, pools, state park system, gym etc. We are in a walkable area of Shorewood Hills, on a multitude of bus lines. 10 minutes from downtown Madison, 1.5 hours from Milwaukee and 2.5 hours from Chicago. It is required that caregivers have a minimum of 1 year of experience with children elementary aged or older and/or multiple siblings, organizational skills, be physically active and willing to learn to swim. Teaching, previous childcare, camp counselor, or special needs experience is a plus. Successful applicants are flexible, active, and thoughtful team players. Pay $20-24+ per hour commensurate with responsibilities and experience (some compensation through Dane County Community Long Term Supports).
