Lead and manage Motiva's Supply Chain team, overseeing the development, implementation, and supervision of procurement processes and policies.
Collaborate with Category Managers to support and develop category strategies that align with organizational goals.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external third parties, and the Corporate Contracts & Procurement team to enhance value delivery within Motiva's management framework.
Offer consultation and technical support to staff regarding routine and complex procurement activities.
Develop sourcing strategies that align with business needs and approved category strategies.
Ensure the procurement activities conducted by the base plant supply chain team comply with procurement standards, controls, and ethical business practices.
Select, nurture, and manage suppliers in accordance with organizational requirements, continuously monitoring supplier performance.
Provide guidance to supply chain specialists on the qualification of contractors and suppliers before awarding work within the Motiva Manufacturing Complex.
Create and maintain approved contractor lists and collaborate with end users in scope development.
Cultivate ongoing relationships with relevant stakeholders to influence, shape, and support key business requirements.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach, both individually and as part of a team, while collaborating with stakeholders to optimize spending.
Assist the Supply Chain team in negotiating key commercial terms and conditions, coordinating with Legal and Risk Management staff as necessary to ensure acceptable contractual terms and minimize risk.
Monitor and document changes in the scope of work, serving as a focal point for issue resolution, including warranty matters.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, finance, STEM, or a related field.
5 or more years of experience in procurement, supply chain, commercial negotiations, contract development, contract management, or a related field.
Demonstrated strong work ethic and strategic thinking skills.
Exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage concurrent initiatives and projects.
Proven ability to cultivate relationships with internal and external business partners.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Background in technical discipline, technical sales, or technical procurement
Oil & Gas Business Acumen
Experience in Materials & Services Contracting
General Understanding of Procurement Processes

Previous manufacturing (refinery) experience is highly preferred.

Position Overview:
Motiva Enterprises is seeking a Supply Chain Team Lead (Contracts & procurement) to join our Port Arthur, Texas team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team of Procurement Specialists dedicated to supporting the company's strategic sourcing goals. Your responsibilities include providing leadership, performance coaching, and developmental opportunities to cultivate a team of subject matter experts well-versed in industry best practices. This is essential for meeting our leadership expectations in the ever-evolving business environment.
To achieve this, you will focus on building high-performing teams through both internal and external training, as well as exposure to industry associations. Your aim is to ensure that the team remains up-to-date with industry-leading practices, thereby enhancing their industry knowledge. You will report to the Manufacturing Complex Contracts & Procurement Manager at Motiva and be an integral member of the Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex CP Leadership Team.
