      Position Purpose:

      The Graveyard Support Staff position is located at a Residential Treatment Program for women and their children in South Los Angeles. This position must have a Flexible Work Schedule as needed for 24-hour residential program. The Support Staff is integral in ensuring clients follow program schedule and rules. This position upholds the JWCH mission to improve the health status and wellbeing of under-served segments of the population of Los Angeles County.

      Principal Responsibilities:

      1. Responsible for the care and oversight of 31 bed residential facility during graveyard shift.
      2. Will work collaboratively with treatment team to serve program clients’ needs.
      3. Communicates effectively with staff about needs of clients observed during grave yard shift.
      4. Prepare thorough shift report, send via email to staff daily.
      5. Responsible for administrative support to clinical, program and administrative staff.
      6. Responsible to support new client intakes (i.e. inventory new client’s property, prepare bed, and wash linen)
      7. Conduct urinalysis testing for client as needed and document.
      8. Walk the property and inside facility regularly throughout the shift for environmental checks per schedule.
      9. Complete daily program checklist (i.e. repairs needed, room checks, environmental checks)
      10. Walk to the grocery store, and other close by locations, with clients as needed.
      11. Assist with or responsible for making medications available to clients at designated times.
      12. Maintain medication log according to program policies and procedures.
      13. Assist with meal prep, cooking and serving.
      14. De-escalate clients and situations.
      15. Participate in mandatory training sessions.
      16. Interface effectively with client’s families, and outside agencies while maintaining client confidentiality.
      17. Complete projects as assigned during work shifts.
      18. Participate in daily team touch bases and monthly staff meetings.
      19. Provide support to Outpatient Program, as needed.
      20. Perform follow up procedures with clients who have exited the program.
      21. Discusses all patient information only with appropriate program personnel when related to the care being provided.
      22. Maintains standards of cleanliness, organization for work station, community room and other areas of use
      23. Completes addiction and cultural competency trainings effectively and efficiently, and other required trainings each fiscal year.
      24. Will work offsite as needed and in the community.
      25. Performs other duties as assigned.

      Requirements:

      1. Knowledge of the alcohol and substance abuse field.
      2. Knowledge of de-escalation skills.
      3. High school diploma or GED.
      4. Two years of sobriety if in recovery.
      5. Computer skills (e-mail and Microsoft Programs).
      6. Good oral and written communication skills.
      7. Good documentation skills.
      8. Ability to work within a team structure.
      9. Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
