      Main duties of the job

      As a Support Worker, you will join an inclusive and supportive team that works together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. The work can be challenging at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. However, it is deeply rewarding to see people improve and know that you have made a positive impact on their lives.

      What you will be doing:

      You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

      Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

      It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

      The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

      Where you will be working:

      Location: Calverton Drive, Nottingham, NG8 6QN

      The service is designed for those individuals who require a high level of support to live within a community setting and will continue to require this longer term. Clients may be referred who are transitioning from hospital or children’s services, or where their community placement is no longer viable. The service aims to support people to return to their family or home area.

      The service is located in Strelley in Nottingham. The service backs on to Broxtowe Park and there are a range of local amenities including, shops and leisure and primary care facilities. Strelley is 15 minutes from Nottingham by car or public transport and is close to the M1 providing good transport links throughout the county.
