      This is an opportunity to work as a Support Worker at The Copse in Weston-Super-Mare, a rehabilitation service for men requiring medium-term placement. You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team that works together to provide care to people with a range of mental health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help them along their recovery pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Support Worker, your day-to-day responsibilities will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. However, it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.

      Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

      It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

      The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends, 40.25 hours per week.

      Location: Beechmont Close, Old Mixon, Weston-Super- Mare, Somerset , BS24 9EX

      You will be working at The Copse, a rehabilitation service for men requiring a medium term placement focusing on active rehabilitation in order to progress into future community placements. Service users may or may not be detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) with a diagnosis of mental illness.

      Service Users typically come from either acute or low secure hospitals, or directly from the community. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support service .

      Located within the heart of the Weston-Super-Mare community, minutes from the sea front. The Copse has excellent bus links to all the local services. The service provides a relaxed and homely setting within a modern and vibrant environment. Service users have their own private bedrooms which can be personalised. There are kitchens, comfortable lounges and dining rooms and pretty gardens to relax in.
