What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule procedures at the facility along with any pre-procedure testing required
- Obtain precertification/preauthorization from insurance companies prior to surgery for each procedure and test
- Verify patient eligibility and coverage for the procedure
- Discuss pre-operative testing and instructions with the patient, as directed by physicians
- Maintain communication among the physician, patient, insurance company, and hospital at all times
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of medical office experience; orthopedic setting preferred
- At least 2 years of prior surgical scheduling experience preferred
- EMR experience required; MEDENT experience preferred
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are necessary for the position
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in an orthopedic setting
- Familiarity with MEDENT EMR system
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Experience in a patient-facing role within a healthcare environment
